Tens of thousands of British Columbians are saving energy and money because of their participation in the LiveSmart BC: Efficiency Incentive Program.

British Columbians that have not already accessed incentives from either the LiveSmart BC Efficiency Incentive program or the federal ecoEnergy Retrofit - Homes program are still eligible to access the existing LiveSmart BC incentives. The first step to access LiveSmart BC incentives is to book a home energy efficiency evaluation by a certified energy advisor. No federal registration number is required to book an energy efficiency evaluation for homeowners who are only accessing the LiveSmart BC incentives.

Here is how to begin:

Step 1
Read the LiveSmart BC frequently asked question page to determine if you are eligible for the program.

Step 2
Determine if your planned renovation is eligible for the program.

Step 3
Before you start your renovation call a Certified Energy Advisor. The Certified Energy Advisor will perform an assessment of your house before the renovation. This assessment is a key part of your LiveSmart BC application.

Step 4
Your Certified Energy Advisor will provide you with a report and will give your house an EnerGuide for Houses rating.

Step 5
Make your retrofits. Perform a follow up inspection with a Certified Energy Advisor before March 31, 2011.

Step 6
Your Certified Energy Advisor will submit your application to make LiveSmart BC grants available. Your home will be given a new EnerGuide rating to reflect the upgrades made to your home.

Please note:
There are specific requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for incentives. Please read about the eligible improvements carefully. If you are unclear on requirements, consult your Certified Energy Advisor before purchasing or installing any equipment.

These incentives are subject to revision, and will be paid in accordance with the Terms and Conditions in place at the time of the homeowner's second energy assessment.

Payment of LiveSmart BC incentives is subject to the availability of funds.
