Biodiversity Conservation Strategy
In response to the increasing loss, fragmentation and disturbance of ecosystems from human activities, the Biodiversity Conservation Strategy was developed to engage the public, land use planners and decision-makers to conserve the ecosystem components, functions and services that comprise "biodiversity".
A key goal of the Biodiversity Conservation Strategy is to provide partners and stakeholders with information and tools to help prioritize resources and conservation efforts, and to create regional benefits through local actions. One aspect of the strategy is a regional biodiversity analysis using mapping and indicator species to identify "biodiversity hotspots", reservoirs, corridors and sensitive areas.
