*Effective January 1, 2009, yard trimmings will no longer be accepted from residents in plastic bags.
Yard trimmings will only be collected in reusable rigid containers with Yard Trimmings decals (Yard Trimmings decals are available free of charge at Delta Municipal Hall and recreation centres), biodegradable Kraft paper bags, or tied bundles.
The banning of plastic bags for yard trimmings is a more environmentally sustainable option and will eliminate the landfilling of these bags. Kraft paper bags may be purchased at many retail locations or for your convenience, starting November 24th, they will also be available for purchase from the Delta Municipal Hall and recreation centres.
