Slope Failure - Tsatsu Shores Area

On Friday, January 16, 2009 a series of surficial slope failures were detected along the western slopes of Tsawwassen Bluff between Pacific Drive and Tsatsu Drive on the Tsawwassen First Nation Land. Preliminary information indicates that the debris flows, which originated several metres upslope are the result of intense & prolonged rainfall, rapid snowmelt, and sharp fluctuations in ground-water levels.

For reasons of public safety, the parking lot to the east of Tsatsu Shores Condominium complex and access to the beach trail will remain closed until further notice.
