Civic Recognition
The Council of the Corporation of Delta may bestow a "Civic Recognition" award, when deemed appropriate, for the formal recognition of outstanding achievements by an individual and/or group. The Office of the Municipal Clerk coordinates and manages all duties related to the presentation of Civic Recognition Awards.
At the July 25, 2011 Regular Meeting, Council endorsed the Civic Recognition Policy - { pdf 40KB } which provides for the granting of four distinct awards and one certificate.
There are five levels of "Civic Recognition," which may be bestowed, as follows:
- Freedom of the Municipality
- Civic Merit Award
- Major Achievement or Long-term Contribution Award
- Achievement Award
- Certificate/Letter of Appreciation
